9 June 2020
Well, we are in Level 1 so bridge is on again!
I have just come back from a Committee meeting and we have decided to start on Tuesday 16th June. Most of the Tuesday players will have partners for that night since it is the beginning of the Te Horo pairs. If you do not have a partner, you will need to ring around or use our Facebook page to find someone.
Friday play will start on 19 June and Monday play on 22 June.
While we are now sure that there is no community transmission of Covid-19, we are coming in to the flu season. Please take extra precautions to limit transmission of viruses or bacteria through coughing, sneezing or mouth-to- hand-to-cards transfer. If you are unwell, stay home. Hand sanitiser, soap and tissues are available for your use.
Possible Thursday play
Last year the committee agreed that we would offer the chance for daytime play on Thursdays during this winter if there was sufficient demand. I will put a notice up on the board asking for expressions of interest from people who might want to play on a Thursday. If we go ahead, we will also need someone to volunteer to be a convener.
The Committee has agreed that we should go ahead with the midwinter social a week later than the date in your books. This will be a great time to celebrate being back playing bridge.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the club.
